Herausforderung Provide concrete formwork solutions to one of the worlds largest ever construction projects

Hong Kong International Airport (known locally as Chek Lap Kok airport) was, at the time, the worlds largest and most demanding construction projects ever attempted. Designed by Sir Norman Foster, the new airport required SGB (at the time known as SGB) to provide highly innovative formwork and shoring solutions for the construction of bridges and terminal buildings on the project. The on site team were required to manage everything from design and stock control to financial matters and logistics including the shipping of personnel and vast quantities of equipment onto the man made island, which was only accessible by barge and boat.
